Best fit for 5
4-Bedroom Comfortable Apartment
One bed per man, no negotiations. Quiet street, Guest Favourite, ten minutes on foot to U Fleků.
Seven hours of train, a pint in the restaurant car, castle views from a fat-tire scooter, dark lager poured since 1499 and a Sunday soak in a beer bath. No cars. No excuses. Five seats.
Direct trains, centre to centre, 6 h 53 min. No airport, no taxi, a restaurant car with Czech beer. Book through cd.cz for the cheap “First Minute” fares and add seat reservations, because Friday and Sunday afternoons fill up.
Times from the 2026 timetable (valid until the mid-December change). Check the exact train on cd.cz before paying; one booking with one passport name can cover all five.
Everything is walkable from the pubs. Three apartments where we share a living room and a fridge of Pilsner, three five-star hotels, or three budget hotels with a room each and more money left for beer. Links open with our dates and five guests filled in.

Top rated
Closest to Lokál and the Square, and 2.5 bathrooms for five men on a Saturday morning.
4 beds: confirm the sofa bed before booking, or someone draws the short straw.
Under the castle
Cobbled lanes below the castle, a spare bed for whoever snores, and a short walk to the Scrooser start.
Forbes 5-star
Four historic buildings on the Vltava, Charles Bridge about 100 m from the door, the castle across the river. The flagship.
Monks' own beer
Lives inside a working Augustinian monastery, serves a beer brewed to the monks' recipe in the old refectory, and does one of the best hotel breakfasts in town.
Best spa in Prague
A restored Dominican monastery with a spa in the vaulted undercroft. The quietest five-star address in the centre, which matters at 2 a.m.
Best value
Design-budget chain at Florentinum: about 1 km to Old Town Square, a short walk to the main station, a bar for the nightcap. Rooms are doubles, so each man gets a big bed.
Walk to Old Town
Clean, practical base for men who are out all day. Old Town Square is about 12 minutes on foot, and Florenc metro (lines B and C) is 5 minutes away for the scooter meeting point.
Cheapest
Design hostel-hotel with proper private rooms and their own bathrooms. U Fleků is a five-minute stagger away, and the Beer Spa on Žitná is around the corner.
Mixed crowd, younger and louder at the bar. Book the private rooms, not dorm beds.
Airbnb totals are estimates until dates are entered; hotel figures are published “from” or typical rates for a standard room and move with demand. November is low season, so live prices are often better.
Prague is all cobbles and hills. We are not walking up to the castle. A local guide takes us on German-built SCROOSER fat-tire e-scooters along the river, up Letná and through the castle grounds, with photo stops at every viewpoint.

The scooters now run in stand-up mode only. For a seated ride, the same company runs a Grand City tour on electric choppers. From roughly €65 a head; check the live price on the booking page.
Czechs drink more beer per head than anyone on earth. We have 44 hours to keep up. Tick a stamp when a mission is done; the passport fills on your phone.
The classic. A full glass with a thick, wet head of about three fingers that keeps the beer fresh to the last sip. Your default order.
A beer hall the length of a train carriage, pouring unpasteurised Pilsner Urquell straight from cellar tanks. Fried cheese, beef tartare, pork with dumplings.
Dare: order a hladinka, a šnyt and a mlíko in one round and taste the difference.
The scooters drop us at the top of the hill, where monks have brewed since medieval times. Today the house beers are named after St. Norbert, brewed and poured in the monastery courtyard.
Dare: a flight of every St. Norbert on tap, then walk down through the castle at dusk.
Brewing on this spot since 1499 and serving one beer only: a 13° dark lager carried round on trays. Pork knuckle, an accordion, long wooden tables.
Warning: the waiters will offer shots of Becherovka. Each one ends up on the bill.
The draft Czech Extraliga schedule has HC Sparta Praha v Dukla Jihlava and HC Slavia Praha v Warriors Brno on Saturday 14 November. Plastic cup, terrace chants, Czech ice hockey at full volume.
Check the face-off time on the club site before we commit. It may clash with U Fleků.
Private room, three oak tubs of warm water with hops, malt and brewer's yeast, an unlimited self-service tap beside you, a sauna, then a nap on a straw bed. The best hangover cure in Europe.
Package for six people in three tubs with sauna: CZK 11,000, about CZK 1,850 a head.
The pub where Pilsner Urquell was first poured in Prague, in 1843. Goulash, roast pork, and a last round under the Gothic walls of Our Lady of the Snows before the 13:37 train.
Final mission: one for the road, then the restaurant car home.
Average age fifty. Combined experience: considerable. Stamina: to be confirmed. Two ways to finish Saturday night like gentlemen.
The big one
Billed as the biggest cabaret in the country: can-can, acrobatics and pole shows on several floors, a short walk from Wenceslas Square.
Ask for the drinks menu with prices before ordering anything for a dancer.
Old theatre
Set inside a former theatre and plusher than you would expect. Striptease, can-can and Moulin Rouge-style numbers on the old stage.
Online reviews mention surprise bills. Pay by card, check every line.
Champagne lounge
The champagne option: a VIP lounge pouring Moët, Veuve Clicquot and Dom Pérignon while the dancers do their work.
Champagne here is priced like champagne. Set a group cap before going in.
Cigar bar
Cocktail legend
Hidden cellar
Strip clubs around Wenceslas Square are known for padded bills. Pay by card, check the total before signing, and keep the receipt.
Pick the comfort level and see the bill. Rough figures from the prices above; beer in Prague is cheap enough that it barely moves the total.
ONE MAN · 13–15 NOV · ESTIMATE
Euro estimates; Czech prices are in CZK. Card works almost everywhere, carry a little cash for tips.
Refreshes every time the page opens. Until the trip is within forecast range it shows a typical mid-November from the last ten years; from about two weeks out it switches to the live forecast and sharpens day by day.
